Sheffield United will arrive at the Liberty this afternoon looking to secure the win that will take them back above Norwich into the automatic slots in the Championship.
The game is an exact repeat of our last league game at this level before promotion to the Premier League and an exact result of that win this afternoon would be an incredible result and one that would set us up nicely for the challenges ahead.
We have said all season that it will be our home form that dictates our final league position which has been true to date with the Swans pretty much an average side at home to match up with our mid table league position.
A first home game of the New Year may have been almost three weeks in the making but we now have three home games before the end of the month and three wins will not only see progression to the 5th Round of the FA Cup but also improve our league position and put us back within touching distance of the play offs.
The transfer window may not yet have seen any arrivals (or departures) at the Liberty but the form has been good and the Swans go into the game unbeaten in three away trips so far which include very convincing wins at both Reading and Aston Villa.
Ollie McBurnie is likely to be straight back into the starting line up after he missed the last two games and will be looking to add to his 10 goals he has scored so far this term and with that in mind he can be backed at 11/2 to score the first goal of the afternoon.
On the overall match result, the Swans can be backed for the win at 2/1 whilst a Sheffield United win and a return to the Top 2 is 7/5 with the draw showing at 47/20.
Earlier we mentioned the last time Sheffield United came to the Liberty and the Swans that day secured a 4-0 win . History could have a habit of repeating itself and if you do fancy that to be the case then at 64/1 you will be having a good evening tonight on those returns.
We do though however fancy a Swans win on the day but maybe not quite to that scoreline from last time around but at 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 and odds of 15/4 that will certainly attract something from us.
Outside of the odds, we do fancy though that McBurnie for Baker-Richardson could be the only change as Potter has certainly changed his mantra of constant changes in the New Year and that is playing its way through to results which I do fancy will continue this afternoon.
Let's do it - WHO ARE WE?
