Martinez Delighted With Hull Draw

Roberto Martinez declared himself delighted with the draw that will see Premier League Hull City at the Liberty

The two sides will meet just over five years since they were pitched against each other in a League Two match with the Swans fighting for their football league future.

The Swans won that day as we know but five years on the two sides now occupy places in the top two divisions with the Tigers about to embark on their first ever Premier League season.

And the game will have a little added spice as Sam Ricketts returns to face the Swans for the first time since he left the club in the summer of 2006 when Hull came calling with big money.

Martinez told the official site "It's a fantastic draw, when you wait for a cup draw you hope for two things; firstly a home tie and secondly a Premier League club.

"We've got both of them, plus a bit of history thrown in as well.

"When we played Hull at the Vetch Field back in May 2003, it was probably the most important 90 minutes in the club's history as we needed the win to stay in the league.

"This time it will be nice to welcome them to the Liberty Stadium for the first time with, I'm glad to say, the club in a totally different position.''
