Tony Takes Up The Challenge

Home > Story Index >Tony Takes The Challenge

The team, initially formed by this website to play Cardiff has recently opened up its doors so all Swansea fans can join the Squad. Tony Guard a big Swansea city supporter was interested in the team after hearing that the team were trying to build bridges with other club supporters, and raise funds for local charity at the same time (Children's Burns Unit Morriston).

Tony, who runs Energy spy the free Internet service that's putting people in touch with the cheapest source of gas and electricity, has promised Swansea supporters trust a cut of all profits made in the Swansea area. Tony has also said that when business takes off (which I'm sure it will) he will be willing to sponsor the Jack Army Supporters team. In the mean time he will as a Swansea supporter play for the team. Tony who lives away from Swansea (due to business commitments) has yet to meet the team, all of whom are waiting to see what Tony is made of as a player and where he will best fit in (Tony is a midfield player so look out Phil Crocker he's maybe after that no11 shirt). Although Tony hasn't played for a while the running substitution we play will allow him to get back into the game at his own pace.

Tony is the second ex- Swan city player to play for the team as Craig Draper made several guest appearances in the Cardiff games. This time there will be no special conditions for Tony to play (2 players off for Craig to go on and no direct goal scoring)

There are several games planned but the aim at the moment is to build up the squad skills to play the Ex Swans and guests in the end of season charity match on May the 4th (Venue has yet to be confirmed). This is a Joint venture between the Royal Mail Action Team; J.A.Net supporters F.C (to raise money for football in the community) and Swansea Supporters Trust Which should prove a great and profitable day out for everyone.

All the best, Dave le rave.
