We should never forget them
To mark 100 years since the end of the First World War, 72,396 shrouded figures will be laid out in rows, shoulder to shoulder to physically represent each of the British Empire servicemen killed at the Battle of the Somme who have no known grave, many of whose bodies were never recovered from the battlefields.
Planned for November 2018, the display will be extraordinary in its impact and recognition of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Somerset artist Rob Heard is spending 15,000 hours creating each shrouded figure individually.

74 years ago today, tens of thousands of British, American, Canadian, European and other Commonwealth troops were undertaking the greatest military operation the world had ever seen.
For many, it would prove to be their last day...!!
Lest we forget.

|Who Killed Little Red Riding Hood? An Unsolved Crime|

"This case is believed to be the oldest in the world in which a DNA profile has been obtained."
Muriel Drinkwater was a young Welsh schoolgirl. Born in the summer of 1933, she was the youngest of four children and lived with her parents Percy and Margaret on a small farm called Tyle-Du, near Penllegaer.
Brutally attacked as she walked through the local woods in June 1946, her killing became known as 'the Little Red Riding Hood Murder'.
