Another club going the youth route due to financial issues (in their case it's FFP sanctions more than actual lack of cash afaik).

Dan James, Connor Roberts and Joe Rodon in the squad. No Declan John.
Ben Davies having a hernia op right after the CL final so will miss out. No Dummett either. Neil Taylor and Ben Williams as the left-back options.
Cian Harries was at the hush hush training camp the week before the Portugal one.

Dan James, Connor Roberts and Joe Rodon included in a mixed group of young and older players ahead of next month's internationals. Real squad is announced at the end of this month.
Dylan Levitt is a quality player. Never been convinced by Broadhead.

New contracts for Matt Blake (2 years), Josh Gould and Tom Price (1 year).
One year extension clauses activated for Liam Cullen and Kieran Evans.
First pro deals offered to Mason Jones-Thomas, Cameron Evans, Daniel Williams and Marc Walsh.
Ryan Blair, Keston Davies, Tyler Reid, Adam King, Adnan Maric and Jack Withers released as I expected. But Aaron Lewis I did not.
Plus Nathan Shepperd signing for Brentford after his scholarship ended.

Final game of the PL2 season. Swans already relegated. But places in the team for the cup semi final up for grabs.
|Rodon or CCV?|

Really good article here on the various qualities of ball-playing centre halves in the Championship.
The charts clearly show what we've all noticed by now: CCV is a very accomplished safe passer of the ball, while Joe Rodon is a more ambitious and creative option for unlocking teams. Also that vdH is class.
I'm hoping Joe features as much as possible (fitness permitting) between now and the end of the season, we've missed his influence on games even if CCV is probably the better player overall.

Swans must avoid an away defeat to stand a chance at staying in the division. Been a tough one, but form and performances have improved as the season has gone on. Hope remaining, however small, with Spurs and Man City left to play.
Oli Cooper out for the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage. Likely to be a very young side again, like most away fixtures have been ahead of senior home games.

Some interesting stuff about management & the media. A good read.
"Too much experience is not good. Then you have an automatic pilot. You always need imagination and you cannot forget how inspiring young players can be.
"If you are not willing to trust young players, you are not suitable to be a manager of a club with a youth education."
"Manchester United had over 30 players. I brought them back to 23. Then I had an open selection for the youth academy. I did that at every club. That is why a lot of young players have made their debuts with me."

DJ didn't do full training with the rest of the squad today. He, Brooks and James Lawrence did a separate light session. Carrying a knock from those City cloggers, probably.
Ampadu, Tom Lawrence and Sam Vokes all injured and won't play this week.
