Amazon Prime

I also find the way amazon avoids paying its way and the way it treats employees undesirable but the BBC are hardly angels in fair usage of the license fee. Endless repeats, that god awful Mrs browns boys and the abomination that’s been the latest dr who is indicative of an organisation who knows they’ll never have to compete for viewers.

Agree with you 100% (first time for everything I suppose)

If it was for the benefit of a local ownership trying to genuinely keep the club afloat I’d sacrifice it but this lot can suck my stump!! I need that money to help pay my mortgage and I’ll be keeping an eye on next years seasons ticket money as I’ve already paid for it in December and I’ll be hoping for a refund on that too. Sad for me to feel that way but I cannot justify to the bank that ayews wages are a higher priority than my mortgage...

EFL season over?
at 19:22 30 Apr 2020

Although on the face of it that’s not a bad shout there are a few problems with that,

A - clubs will fold en masse, no business can last a year without income with the outgoings clubs presently have. Yes they can defer and renegotiate contracts but for example MVH contract is up in June, is it fair to keep him in limbo for a year on no pay where he can get a deal to play in say Germany who are looking to start up in 3 weeks? He’s 27, prime of his career. Yes I know moving over there would be a ball ache yada yada but it’s an example, one player of many.

2 - Other countries are at a different stage in combating the virus which looks like the leagues will be all over the place. We could pause the season for a year and come back to find some countries halfway through next season.

C - morally it’s questionable to shoehorn football in these times. All kits and personnel need to be utilised in protecting the public. Football in stadiums even empty ones would still require police, paramedics, and 1000’s of testing kits for players, club staff, stadium staff, media, officials and the quarantining process would have to take place 2 weeks before the game. Is it fair to separate loved ones for weeks on end to finish a season behind closed doors. There are bigger things to concern the world than where we’re going to finish in the league. Especially when people are dying.

Swansea City Agree Wage Deferrals
at 22:15 24 Apr 2020

Whilst I do find clubs furloughing staff to supplement players wages distasteful they have to do it to keep the clubs afloat. How many clubs will fall short of ffp when theIr accounts are released? Clubs were given no advanced warning of this situation and if the board had run the club with this scenario in mind then we’d be bottom of the championship right now by some distance as the other clubs would’ve continued to spend willy nilly. Good on the players for agreeing it, they didn't have to but deeper cuts will have to be made seen as it looks like we won’t have bums on seats in stadiums for some time possibly 2021.

Where is the 350M a week that the NHS was promised if we left the EU ?
at 22:45 4 Apr 2020

Not that I’m defending that massive lie on the bus but surely this 350mill would be available after the UK finished paying into ‘the club’ which by my understanding is some time away.

I'm hearing Iceland stores are opening 8-11 for the elderly and vulnerable only so they can get what they need before the vultures start barging and hammering the shelves, nice idea.

The Borg - "resistance is futile"
at 08:56 16 Mar 2020

The Borg were brilliant, Created as they felt TNG was going nowhere with decent villains as the Ferengi looked daft and Romulans boring.

First Contact is a very underrated film, better than Wrath of Khan controversially.

Oh and I agree Jeri Ryan as 7of9

Same but I was lucky that camera phones were science fiction when I were in comp. One advantage, you had a 2 second warning when you heard the winder going on the point&shoot.
