Newport Council excuses
at 13:59 5 Jun 2020
Newport City Council have published extracts from letters of complaints written by residents:
These are hilarious 🤣
1. It's the dogs mess that I find hard to swallow.
2. I want some repairs done to my cooker as it has backfired and burnt my knob off.
3. I wish to complain that my father twisted his ankle very badly when he put his foot in the hole in his back passage.
4. Their 18 year old son is continually banging his balls against my fence.
5. I wish to report that tiles are missing from the outside toilet roof. I think it was bad wind the other day that blew them off.
6. My lavatory seat is cracked, where do I stand?
7. I am writing on behalf of my sink, which is coming away from the wall.
8. Will you please send someone to mend the garden path. My wife tripped and fell on it yesterday and now she is pregnant.
9. I request permission to remove my drawers in the kitchen.
10. 50% of the walls are damp, 50% have crumbling plaster, and 50% are just plain filthy.
11. The next door neighbour has got this huge tool that vibrates the whole house and I just can't take it anymore.
12. The toilet is blocked and we cannot bath the children until it is cleared.
13. Will you please send a man to look at my water, it is a funny and not fit to drink.
14. Our lavatory seat is broken in half and now is in three pieces.
15. I want to complain about the farmer across the road. Every morning at 6am his cock wakes me up and it's now getting too much for me.
16. The man next door has a large erection in the back garden, which is unsightly and dangerous.
17. Our kitchen floor is damp. We have two children and would like a third, so please send someone round to do something about it.
18. I am a single woman l am
writing in about the noise made by the man on top of me every night.
19. Please send a man with the right tool to finish the job and satisfy my wife..
20. I have had the clerk of works down on the floor six times but I still have no satisfaction.
21. This is to let you know that our lavatory seat is broke and we can't get BBC2.
22. My bush is really overgrown round the front and my back passage has fungus growing in it.

A London business man has bought Haverfordwest County, has become the new chairman and is 'going to take them to the next level 😁
Now where have we heard that before!
Apparently he is going to make them the top.team in the Welsh Premier League, ( I was going to say top.team in Wales , but I didn't want.upset our friends down the road).

Today (16th May)
Received today from FAW
"Please be advised that further to the previous FAW Board decision of 17th April 2020, the current suspension of all domestic football in Wales is extended automatically until 12th June, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The statement below, previously issued by our insurance providers Bluefin, is still in effect.
“Neither the Countycover Liability insurance package or Personal Accident insurance arranged through the Football Association of Wales will respond to claims if clubs continue to provide sessions which is against the advice of the Government and Governing Body.
"This includes clubs arranging matches, training sessions, friendlies, competitions and tournaments.
"Furthermore, as Personal Accident insurance does not provide cover in respect of Sickness, Disease or Illness, there is no cover for a person contracting COVID-19 whilst playing or training.
"There is an obligation for all officials to take all reasonable precautions to ensure the wellbeing of members and we thank you for your co-operation at this unprecedented time."
Above all, the most important priority for the FAW is the health and wellbeing of everyone. The FAW encourages everyone to follow the advice of the UK & Welsh Governments and Public Health Wales. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the pandemic."

With the lockdown extended in Wales.
There are in all areas those that dont take s blind bit of notice and carry on regardless and are really taking the p!ss whilst the vast majority comply.
Just wondering what members would do?
Would you join the hundreds of thousands who have done so already and report them to the Police?
Max Boyce new poem
at 10:45 14 Apr 2020
🌟 Max Boyce has written a beautiful poem, in his own inimitable way, about these troubled times called ‘When Just The Tide Went Out'.
(which can be sung to the tune of 'Hymns and Arias')
We hope it brings a smile to your face and keeps you safe...
Team Max 🏴💙
'When Just The Tide Went Out'
Last night as I lay sleeping
When dreams came fast to me
I dreamt I saw JERUSALEM
Beside a tideless sea
And one dream I’ll remember
As the stars began to fall
Was Banksy painting Alun Wyn
On my neighbour’s garage wall
And dreams like that sustain me
Till these darkest times have past
And chase away the shadows
No caring night should cast
But times like this can shine a light
As hardship often can
To see the best in people
And the good there is in man
And I remember Swansea with nobody about
When the shops were closed like Sunday
And just the tide went out
And I remember Mumbles with the harbour in its keep
And the fishing boats at anchor that trawl the waters deep
And I heard the seabirds calling
As the gulls all wheeled about
But all the town was sleeping now
And just the tide went out
And when these days are over
And memories remain
Of children painting Rainbows
When the sun shone through the rain
And I thought of all the nurses who stretchered all the pain
And I hope they never get to see a time like this again
And I prayed last week for Boris
Who knocked on Heavens door
And I thought of voting Tory, which I’ve never done before
And though the sun is shining now I’ve no immediate plans
So I’ll write a book on ‘Staying In’ and ‘Ways To Wash Your Hands’
And I’ll remember mornings with nobody about
When the shops were closed like Sunday
And just the tide went out.
Max Boyce MBE

Swansea's biggest legend?
at 11:21 22 Jan 2020
Reading the info on the Stoke game reminded me that their ground is on Stanley Matthews Way, Man Utd have Sir Matt Busby Way etc. Many teams also have stands e.g. The Bobby Moore stand at the old WHU ground.
This led me to thinking who is Swansea's biggest legend and are they worthy of having the road or stand named after them?

Lost at home again today to Aldershot and now just 3 points clear of relegation from the National League.
Just shows again.how important that win was against Hull
Carmarthen v Ammanford

Magic Daps and Robinson (?) Playing for Ammanford, Oleary Carmarthen manager 0 0 after 15m

A lot of the tackles last night were what we could consider dirty or over the top, late or whatever and they are. Sadly though it seens that to a lot of teams and referees they are 'normal'and part of the game.
In the first few games jn the Championship last year it was noticeable that Championship referees left a hell of a lot more go than in the Premiership.
Wheras the Premiership calls for technical players the championship is calling for players that also have a strong physical attribute .

Have the Welsh Nationalists taken over the FAW?
Just received an e mail from them , in ENGLISH, highlighting the new CYMRU shirt and all the upcoming matches for CYMRU men, women and youth.
Cymru v Hungary etc
The e mail is headlined. "It's here the new CYMRU shirt"
What the fecking hell is wrong with calling us Wales?
Has this been agreed with UEFA?

Was in Swansea yesterday and looking for lunch and was by the Dragon Hotel and noticed their cafe bar by the front entrance to the hotel.
A bit apprehensively we went in as i thought this is going to cost me but we were very pkeasantly surprised.
The normal menu prices were very reasonable but on a Monday to Saturday 12-3 they do a 3 course menu at just £9 for two courses and £12 for 3 which was fantastic value considering the quality. I also noticed the did Sunday lunch from 9.95 fir 1 course.
Other peopke were having afternoon tea at 14.95 which also looked good.
We were really pleased and would highly recommend,
PS they had a telly on which was showing BT sport as well.

Radio Wales coverage.
at 16:01 1 Sep 2019
When Swans played Derby a couple of weeks ago Radio Wales in Pembrokeshire was covering the Cardiff game as they always do.
Swans commentary is only on RW in the Swansea area.
I complained to them about this. They agreed I had a point and said they would sort it.
In any event with Cardiff having played Fri night I was looking forward to listening to the Leeds game yesterday.
So tuned in on DAB yesterday at 3pm to get greeted by blydi Rugby!!!!! Never mind I thought I'll listen on FM, no blydi chance !
Radio Wales had the same rugby coverage on DAB, FM, MW, Sky, red button, freeview and online! EVERY possible listening option in West Wales.
Rob Phillip's Leeds commentary was only available on DAB in the Swansea area.
It wouldn't be the same if Cardiff were in the top two.
PS Radio Cymru AND Radio Cymru 2 , the Welsh language BBC were BOTH broadcasting the same rugby commentary!
