Sorry to hijack dicky but what’s the story with takeaways? There’s definitely some open for collection near me - is that right?

I have a tiny set of clippers in my wash bag and my missus managed to do me and my two boys with them the other day. No experience, I figured that if she ballsed it up I wouldn’t see any one for a while anyway so it wouldn’t matter. I think she did a pretty good job and the boys are happy.

I know, most people have understanding but those that don’t seem to think they have some sort of moral high ground, or that they have a greater grasp of self employment than the self employed themselves.

Doing your own dentistry
at 11:45 28 Mar 2020

Toofypegs, just ordered three packs off Amazon. The reason is dull but I’ve written it out anyway, venting.

I’ve been having ongoing treatment since November last year, now put on hold until September. Long story but had pain for approx a month while abroad, radiating from a dental bridge. Got home, saw dentist, X-rays, says nothing wrong, no decay, no inflamation, a month later back I go, dentist reluctantly and somewhat carelessly drills through bridge an announces that nerve in anchor tooth is dead and that it would have been painful, duh. As a result my bridge then snapped a along with the holding tooth he drilled through and I ended up with an infected root canal. Now waiting on an extraction due to the infection and faced with the prospect of a denture and then expensive implant.

He won’t have paid a fee.

I looked at UC, never claimed a benefit in my life so very confusing. It seems that if money comes in to my business whilst I claim it, the money is classed as my income, even though it’s company money, not my money. Crazy, the gov will want their 20% and all associated fees will have to be paid before I can even think of paying myself a wage at the same taxable rate as a PAYE employee. .....and some idiots think running a small business is all about tax avoidance.

Every adult who has reported income, whether it be through self assessment, PAYE, corporation tax, or whatever should be paid the same flat rate if they are unable to work. End of. If it’s not enough then take up offers such as mortgage holidays. There shouldn’t be a tiered system with this.

I can’t work, my industry has collapsed. My clients aren’t paying their bills or answering their phones/emails, and the gov has left us swinging. We are the workforce they wanted and encouraged. Yet some arseholes think we had it coming because we should have had our eyes open.

Or those that have no idea of what their talking about keep their mouths shut.

No one could have seen this coming, or made provisions for it, but you’re one of the ‘I’m alright jack’ lucky ones. Just because you didn’t have the balls to go self employed it doesn’t mean those of us that did deserve to fall through the cracks, and I can assure you I pay all my tax, completely up to date, most likely considerably more than you too, so you can go f*ck yourself, prick.

You’ve obviously got a chip in your shoulder about the self employed. Your insinuation is that self employment is all about tax avoidance.

Builth got you summed up in one word.

I kinda understand why the government has gone with him and not the EU as they were invited to, even if I don’t agree. No way we should be paying him anymore than we would them though.

It sounds like the theme tune to some crappy midday soap opera.

A couple of questions - if you had a face like Maldwyn Pope would your video heavily feature you gormlessly mouthing the words in to the camera, and with lyrics so weak why put them up karaoke style on the screen?

Even Elton would struggle to polish that turd.

Got mine done about two weeks ago in anticipation. Pointless really as I can’t go anywhere really but it was just about the only thing that I can put down as a positive in the last month.
