Trade Centre Wales and Motorpoint
at 19:42 5 Feb 2020

I recently bought a car from a motorpoint in Cardiff seemed decent enough and I was happy with my purchase. Only annoying thing about them was that I couldn’t just drive away with the car, they wouldn’t let the car off the forecourt until you paid a (refundable) deposit and then they’re mechanics would give it a service which can take a few days. Seems an off way to go about things, maybe it’s just a unique thing to that branch.

Suprised no one has mentioned corner park off Fabian way. Some good motors there.

Developers tend to like big cities with existing culture for entertainment. Same reason as nice shops like to setup shops in nice streets with other nice shops. An overseas investor isn't in it to develop a region of wales they've probably never heard of, they want a safe bet that they will one day see a return on their investment.

Setting up a $200M venue in Bridgend will be a risky venture and doesn't come close to being as well connected as Cardiff for transport. These guys will want to sell tickets for 3 to 4 nights a weeks or more.

There'll be a bit of public money spent to get the scope and outline of the scheme put together and develop a business case for moving the council offices, if that's what they're doing. But you're talking a couple of hundred grand, if that, in consultancy fees. They'll get that back in no time when this gets built.

But you need to put a bit of work in at the start to attract a developer, who'll bring in the real money to get this going and built.

Isn't this private money being invested?

Its up to those private organisations how they spend their money. Cardiff council or the welsh government can't block planning on the basis that they aren't building one in Swansea.

The grand is too small for some events, whilst the stadium is too big for others.

Its good to have a 3000 capacity offer.

You also can't fit a 15,000 seater in the bit of land where the Swansea arena is going.

Since i also have nothing better to do, first class would have been £600 per person for the same journey. And id that wasn't bad enough, its a 6 hour journey each way.

If he set off an hour later, it would be a more reasonable £120 per person.

And people say Planet Swans is boring these days...

He's not travelling first class, the high cost is because he's setting off at 5:30am and travelling during rush hour for the entire journey.

He could set off later, but miss his appointment in swansea.

He could set off the day before, but he then have to factor in a hotel and potentially childcare arrangements.

That's the best scenario for all involved. The people who can work, work. The Grandparents keep active and mentally stimulated by keeping up with children. The children get spoiled with sweets.

To be honest Loh, its the other way round with me. We can't afford for my wife to go back to work and cover the cost of the associated childcare.

Dunkirk was great. Anyway, if this film is supposedly filmed (or given the impression its filmed) in one continuous shot, how does it span 24 hours?

A 1 deg C rise in global temperature is not a 1 degree C rise to everywhere equally around the globe.

A fans dad - does the rate of change mean anything to you? It’s all well and good having graphs spanning millions of years showing elevated CO2 levels and higher temperatures, but it takes millions of years to get there in these natural cycles. This gives time for eco systems to adapt and evolve to the new conditions. It also meant that during this time, many species of animals and plants became extinct and new species adapt and take their place.

This thread is a great example why misinformation and plain lying pays off since Brexit. When the truth emerges, rather than accept they were lied to, people double down on it.
