What's all this about Harmon and Clarke?

I don't like Corbyn, but accusing a party leader of being desperate to be in charge is the mootest of points

Isn't the point that this will only be for an interim basis to see of no deal brexit and call a general election is called.

It can't be Corbyn, not because he's useless, untrustworthy or conspiracy believing nutjob, but because he will be contesting the subsequent GE. On that basis he could never get the backing of Tory rebels.

What is common sense? You haven’t answered my questions. What is the proposed alternative to the backstop?

Seems like the only solution to satisfy leavers is that the EU stops protecting its borders into member states. That’s not a workable solution for the single market. So how do you get around this?

And what are you basing this assumption on?

Why do you think the EU would put our need ahead of the need to preserve the integrity of the single market and customs?

What is the solution to the Irish border issue to replace the backstop~?

So whats the fix for the Irish border problem them to get around this need for a backstop?

Haven't heard anything yet other than "We/They don't want to put up a border" , which isn't a solution.

I think Bluey is saying that Leave voters heard the message of remain politicians that no deal was a real possibility and believed them over brexit politicians who said this was merely scaremongering and project fear.

In believing the remain politicians on this particular matter, they still voted with the people they know to be lying to them by saying this is was pure nonsense, or lying by omission in failing to raise the risks of no deal prior to the referendum.

*Edit* - f**k me that's hard to follow

Cool video that, but not a single leaver in there claiming leaving without a deal was on the cards. In fact, leavers were saying precisely the opposite and these remoaners were dismissed as project fear and that the German car industry would come to the rescue.

I can’t say I was that informed enough around the time of the vote. I was pretty much undecided for most of it. I hadn’t really thought much of the EU as an institution before the referendum was called. I guess I had other things to get on with in life.

So when weighing up which way to vote, I failed to see the merit of leaving and what good it will bring. Most of the arguments for leaving came accords as regressive and petulant and that totally put me off.

Since the vote, I’ve learnt what a colossal mistake this is for our country along with its standing in the world

...and good for the NHS. When food prices go up, everyone eats less and we have fewer fat people with heart problems.

You may have a point if the vote leave team didn't dismiss it all as bullsh!t at the time.

"Don't listen to them, we hold the cards" was the message

Can't see the guts of that article because of the paywall.

But he also said this....

The boss of the port of Calais has said there could be tailbacks up to 30 miles in all directions and potential food shortages in Britain if a Brexit deal involves mandatory customs and sanitary checks at the French ferry terminal.

Jean-Marc Puissesseau made an impassioned plea to Theresa May and Michel Barnier to put plans in place immediately to avert congestion in Calais and Dover, where bosses have already warned of permanent 20-mile tailbacks.

At the same time a leading politician for the Calais region said the problems in France would be 10 times worse than at the Irish border.

Anyone suggesting that we could leave without a deal was brandished with project fear.

Who’d have foreseen a snap general election happening once A50 2 year window was opened. It was madness.
